The BAHA Cruisers Quality Difference!
Before you can make an intelligent decision to buy, we would like to tell you about the quality features built into every Baha Cruiser boat. We are confident our features create value that is unmatched by our competition!
Standards & Certification
All Baha Cruiser boats are built using the A merican B oat and Y acht C ouncil (ABYC) standards and recommended practices. All Baha Cruiser Boats are also NMMA certified. Boats built to these standards are required to use better equipment and more stringent processes and testing than the basic US Coast Guard standards. Before you buy, check out the competition and see if they build to the same standards.
Hull Construction
Our hulls are constructed of some of the finest materials available today. To insure that your boat has a long-lasting and durable finish, we use gelcoat made of isothalic resin. This gelcoat has superior resistance to color loss, cracking, and crazing. Many of out competitor's boats are made with orthothalic gelcoat, a good product, but inferior to Baha's quality gelcoat.
To give you the best insurance against osmosis, the Baha hull is built with a layer of glass and vinylester resin. Vinylester resin is expensive, but it gives better adhesion to the gelcoat, and leaves fewer passages for water penetration, reducing the possibility of osmosis. The balance of the Baha hull is hand constructed using heavy woven glass composites to give you a hull with exceptional strength and durability, that will provide you with years of trouble-free boating.
Assembly
Other boats are assembled using screws or bolts and silicone. Most Baha boats are fiberglassed together after initial assembly, making the deck and hull a one-piece unit that is stronger and more resistant to leaks around the coaming. Stringers, flooring, seat parts, and transoms are fabricated using Greenwood XL ? Boat panel, which carries a lifetime warranty for your piece of mind (See Greenwood warranty for specific details)
Hull Design
All Baha hulls are designed for quick planing, stability, dryness, and exceptional rough water performance. Baha designs have proven themselves to be the hulls of choice, whether you boat on calm bays, the rough water of the Great Lakes, or the oceans of the world. The proof comes from charter boat captains who earn their living running boats. They need a boat that's safe, economical to operate, and that's designed with the end-user in mind. Another reason why more and more boaters are choosing Baha Cruisers.
Fuel Tanks
All Baha Cruisers fuel systems comply with federal regulations. Only 0.125 inch (1/8) welded aluminum tanks are used. Each tank is thoroughly tested for leaks prior to installation. All tanks feature an anti-siphon valve which will not allow fuel to freely flow into the boat if a fuel line is cut or ruptured. All tanks are cleated into place according to American Boats and Yacht Council (ABYC) standards, preventing unnecessary shifting and movement. Check and compare the fuel capacities of Baha boats. Ours are larger than most, providing the convenience and safety of extended operating range.
Electrical System
All our boats are wired with low-voltage DC systems for lights, pumps, etc., that complies with federal regulations. All circuits are fused or protected by reset breakers, and all wiring systems and other electrical components are approved by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the U.S. Coast Guard. All insulation on stranded copper wire used in Baha Cruiser boats has a temperature rating of 105 degrees centigrade. All electrical connections in exposed areas are shrinkwrapped for extra corrosion protection. Baha Cruisers does not supply batteries with the boats. This insures that you get a fresh battery when you purchase your boat. 110 volt AC shore power systems are standard on some models, and are available options on many others. These systems feature magnetic circuit protection, with standard reverse polarity indicators. All onboard appliances are thoroughly tested at the factory during the manufacturing process. The shore power distribution panel features on-line indicators for immediate monitoring of both 12v and 110v systems.
Engine Instrumentation
All Faria engine monitoring gauges are top quality with a three-year warranty, and instrument night visibility is enhanced by blue-back lighting. All bilge equipment (pumps, blowers, etc.) have indicator lights which show when a unit is operating.
Cabin Windows/Windshields
Most Baha Cruisers models are fitted with heavy duty aluminum welded windshield and window frames, rather than the screw-together mechanical units that some of our competitors use. All windows are tempered, tinted safety glass. Using units built in this fashion is more expensive, but we think the strength and water-tight integrity you gain is worth it, and so will you in years to come.
Stainless Steel Hardware and Rails
All Baha Cruisers are fitted with all-stainless steel hardware for added strength and durability. All load carrying hardware is thru-bolted with block and washers.
Motors
All Baha Cruiser boats are fitted with the finest power plants available--Gas inboards and stern drives by Volvo and Mercruiser, Suzuki, Honda and Mercury Outboards, and Cummins, Volvo and Yanmar diesel engines.
Engine mounts are thru-bolted using heavy, non-corrosive aluminum angle plates to insure the engine stays in place after years of rough water use. Many of our competitors lag into wooden or glass mounts that will, after hours of vibration, work loose and create major expense for you, the boat owner.
Electronics
All Baha Cruiser boats are available factory equipped with Raymarine (formerly Raytheon) electronics. For more information, consult your local dealer, contact us at Baha or visit http://www.raymarine.com for model info.
Overview
Quality components and processes ultimately mean a quality product for you the consumer. Our skilled craftsmen take prid in each and every boat they build. All of our boats are built one at a time rather than assembly line style. This means more attention to little details, and the ability for Baha to offer more flexibility and semi-custom options than other builders. This means a boat that can be outfitted to the customer's needs, rather than settling for what someone else decides should be equipped.
